Owner Melinda Metten opened CrossFit Bangor in June 2011 so she could have a place to work out with her friends. Little did she know, her whole life was about to change. CrossFit Bangor’s reputation spread like wildfire, and so did membership at her box.
Melinda does it all, not just at the gym, but in life. Aside from owning a gym, she’s also a firefighter and a boom operator. Her unstoppable drive and work ethic mean she’s not good at hiding her disappointment when she sees other people not living up to their potential. “I can’t stand when people avoid adversity all their life and constantly sell themselves short.”

His favorite quote is: “Most men stop when they begin to tire. Good men go until they think they are going to collapse. But the very best know the mind tires before the body and push themselves further and further beyond all limits. Only when all these limits are shattered can the unattainable be reached.”-Mark Mysynk

Josh joined Crossfit Bangor, in March of 2015, after almost 20 years of lifting in globo gyms. Josh grew up playing football, basketball & baseball but his “desk job” (which he loves) and Happy Hour events had led to some pretty serious weight gain. After one year as a member of Crossfit Bangor Josh lost 50lbs, fell in love with the community of the gym and was hooked. Crossfit combines two of his favorite things, working out and competing. After three years as a member, Josh decided to pursue CF-L1 to become a coach. He looks forward to sharing his experience and helping our members get the most out of their time at Crossfit Bangor.
When Josh is not at the gym, looking for his elusive double-unders, he can be found helping people invest for the future and plan for retirement, as a Financial Advisor.
